The BlueZone Study Centres are part of the DfES, Playing for Success initiative and have been part of Manchester City Football Club since October 1998.  mcfc.co.uk 

The Blue Zone is currently one of only nine study centres that has achieved Quality in Study Support (QiSS) recognition at Advanced status.

BlueZone 1 is based at Platt Lane and operates in the central area of Manchester.

BlueZone 2 is based at MCFC’s Stadium in East Manchester.

The main focus of the centre is Study Support ie out-of-school-hours learning. 

The after-school study support sessions cater for pupils

 between the ages of 9 and 14 (Year 5 - Year 8) and the

programme of activities aims to raise standards in Literacy,

Numeracy and ICT.

In February 2003 the BlueZone achieved Established Status in the QiSS (Quality in Study Support) recognition scheme. 

Manchester Adult Education service also deliver

computer classes at BlueZone 1, during the school

 day.  Fast Track teaching use BlueZone 2 for training

purposes.
