OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM:
We attend school six days a week: Sundays - Fridays.
Saturday is our day off.
Every day we study for 5 to 7 hours. School usually starts between 8:45 - 8:30 in the morning. The day ends between 12:00 - 1:30 pm.
We get one long break between 10:05 to 10:25.
Every day of the week we have a different schedule and we study differnt school subjects, Such as: Civics, History, Liteature, Bible, Israeli Heritage, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Sports , Hebrew language arts and Reading Comprehension. We also learn two foreign languages: Arabic and English. In 7th grade we started learning how to use Computers.
In Israeli schools we also have to take a subject called "Shelach'' – in this subject we learn about places in Israel, its Geography, its Historical sites and we also go on field trips.
In Akko we have to learn a special subject – "Marine Studies" – we learn how to row a boat, sail it and take care of it. This is because Akko is near the Sea and we are having this lesson in the port of Akko.
Our school vacations fall on the Israeli and Jewish holidays. Our summer vacation starts on June 20th and ends on August 31st. The new school year begins on September 1st.
Here are some pictures of us in our classes.
